Hello! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my work. I am Nicole Buensuceso, a freelance photographer based in Toronto, Canada.

Once upon a time I worked as a Registered Nurse in one of the city's amazing downtown hospitals, helping people from all walks of life through some very life challenging and difficult times.

As rewarding an experience it was to serve as a nurse for well over a decade,

one day I was faced with the need for surgery and essentially was forced to take a long pause and slow down.

During this time of learning, coping and recovering, I knew something needed to change. For the sake of my health and my family, I needed to shift gears and redirect my heart, focus and efforts and take a new path.

Being creative has always been a part of me, and while I had started my photography business as a side hustle - I consider myself very lucky for the opportunity to now pursue these passions full time. My prior experience in healthcare has gifted me with a compassionate perspective and appreciation for this one fleeting life we have, and I feel a certain kind of joy being able to capture and share the beautiful, honest moments in our lives that celebrate how completely human we are.

I love photography for the opportunity to tell a story; your story. As important as posed portraits are, my favourite approach is to capture these memories for you with a creative, photojournalistic style that focuses on the intangible treasures that can't be seen; the joy, amusement, tenderness, hope, strength...whatever that means for you and your portrait session...and perhaps the bittersweetness of nostalgia, that can be felt years later, when someone happens to stumble upon an old picture.
